Tapan Lal Hazarika just arrived at home after a long stay in the hospital.
His friend, relatives are coming his home to see and know his condition. From morning to night friends are on queue. One of his firm junior colleagues Kamal also comes to know his condition. He asked, “Hazarika Sir, how are you now?” “Kamal, now I am fine and living a life with lots of limitations. There is long list of advice of doctors given me to follow.” He again says with a pause, “Of course, if I follow the doctors and my Mrs. I would not have to face such catastrophe. One day I visit a doctor for some illness and doctor found my BP high. He advised me few medicines to take regularly, and exercise, walking, low salt on diet. I take the medicine for few days and leave.” “ And exercise?”- Kamal asked. Hazarika smiles and answer, “Oh, Nothing. The exercise bike and all other gadgets are lying dull at our store room. For small distance I like to use vehicle. Use lift instead of staircase.” Then his problems of uneasiness, chest problems begin. He said, “ One day I feel chest pain and go to the doctor again. Then all are high: -BP- 170/100, Weight- more than 110kg, and Sugar 356… . Return home with a long list of medicine.” “ I think then you take Binaceni cah”- Kamal. “ Yahh, Tea, without sugar. But I take still sweets without the knowledge of your madam. Also take lots of food in my choice though my food was very much restricted. I forgot to take medicine very often. Actually I ruin my health my self.”
Mrs. Hazarika entered the room and offer tea to them. “ This is for you, without sugar”
“ Madam, How r u know?” Kamal Asked. “ So, so, all the time I am now busy with him. Ok, take tea.”
Hazarika just crossed his fifties. He was fond off eating food. He takes food always was non veg and a heavy drinker. Mutton and chicken dishes are his favorite recipe. He often takes pork too. Two egged omelet is his favorite breakfast meal. Take fruits and salads rarely. And always busy with his business, contract, order, site, labourer, manager, brick, rods etc. He found no time to think about sky, flower, holiday, and outing….. Always on stress. Return home at late night and take food often at his work site or hotel and fall asleep at once. His nose starts driving soon. He has no time for lovely discussion with his wife, son. In other words give no time to his family. This was his life. On 15th of last month he got severe chest pain at night and immediately shifted him to nearby specialty hospital. Then lots of investigations were advised. Doctors said that he got heart attack and advised angiography. On angiography it was found arterial block in the heart. Doctors prepare him for a bypass surgery as there is no way out.
Hazarika’s bypass operation was done at the hospital on date.
“Kamal, if I follow the advice of my Mrs. and doctors then all these would not been happened. I am lucky enough that the specialty hospital is 5 minutes distance from my home and I am admitted to the hospital within one hour- which is Golden hour in heart attack case- as doctors said. Now see, big scar of incision in my chest. So, live a simple life with lots of love and friend. Share emotion with friend and loved one. Take regular exercise, nutritious diet for health,- then I think you will live a healthy life.” Mr. Hazarika said. ********************************
